Years & Years debuted their European Tour with live and interactive VR performance, powered by the Samsung

24 April 2016

Virtual Reality is not science fiction anymore, or at least is much closer then we think. On February 28th, Years & Years performed their first 100% VR concert thanks to Samsung and The Oculus Rift. The band performed four songs in a preview of their upcoming European Tour with fans able to personalise their gig experience by switching between three different camera angles on their headsets.

The creative collaboration between Samsung and Years & Years, with the support of Universal Music Group, illustrates the potential of VR both to transform the art of the live performance and the audience’s experience of it. The Gear VR, powered by the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, is helping to redefine what’s possible for music artists and fans alike, by creating an unprecedented bespoke VR experience.

Years & Years has a strong track record of pushing boundaries in music. Last summer, their new single, Shine, was featured as part of the first interactive ad-break, which viewers controlled via Twitter.
